What kind of credit does it really take to get a mortgage?

Could You Qualify?

What credit score do you need for a home loan?

In today's dynamic real estate market many new buyers don't realize how easy it is to qualify for a mortgage.  Many people mistakenly think that you need perfect credit and a large down payment. There are many loan options available to today's home buyers who may have less than perfect credit.

According to Ellie Mae's Origination Report the average buyer had a credit FICO score of 724 while 54.9% of all home loans originated had buyers with credit scores between 600 and 749.  Many experts believe that if buyers realized that they could qualify with scores as low as 600 that these numbers would shift even more dramatically toward the lower end.

Bottom line is you don't need a 750 credit score and 20% down to qualify.  If you want to see how easy it is please give me a call.  I'd be happy to put you in touch with one of our preferred lending partners.
